Professor Freddy Boey is President and University Distinguished Professor of City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). Prior to this, he served as Deputy President of Innovation and Enterprise at the National University of Singapore, and Provost and Chair of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University.

He is a recipient of Singapore’s prestigious President’s Science & Technology Medal and Imperial College London’s Faculty of Medicine Fellowship award, both for his biomedical research.

Since becoming President of CityUHK in 2023, Professor Freddy Boey has led the University’s transformation, resulting in significant global recognition. CityUHK is ranked among the top 100 universities worldwide in four major international rankings: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Times Higher Education (THE), U.S. News & World Report, and ShanghaiRanking.
