Dr. Xu Li is the Chairman of the Board and CEO of SenseTime, a leading AI software company. Under his leadership, SenseTime innovated the cutting-edge AI infrastructure SenseCore, which integrates computing power, algorithms and platforms. Subsequently, SenseTime built upon SenseCore to develop the SenseNova large model set and R&D system that facilitates the deployment of efficient, cost-effective, and scalable AI products across sectors. Currently, Dr. Xu serves as the first Rotating Chairman of the AI Committee’s Presidium under the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce. He is also the Founding President of the Hong Kong New Quality Entrepreneur Union. Through these appointments, he actively fosters holistic collaborations across the AI ecosystem, driving the systematic development of AI and advancing the growth of next-generation productivity. Dr. Xu obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, with a research focus on computer vision and computational imaging. He has published over 50 papers in top international conferences and journals on computer vision. Dr. Xu also serves as an adjunct professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.Dr. Xu has received numerous awards that reflect his contributions to technology and innovation. He was awarded the SIGGRAPH Asia Test-of-Time Award in 2023 and 2024, which recognizes the enduring impact of his research on computer graphics and interactive techniques. He was named one of Fortune’s “Top 40 Under 40 Business Elites in China” consecutively from 2017 to 2021, and was listed in Fortune’s “Global 40 Under 40” in 2018.His leadership and achievements have also earned him the InnoStars Award in 2019, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year China Award in 2018, and the title of China AI Industry Outstanding Leader by Economic Observer in 2017. In 2017, he was also honored with Sina’s China Economic Person of the Year Newcomer Award and the NetEase Future Technology Person of the Year Award for Innovative Business Leadership.
