Qiang Lyu is currently General Manager of AstraZeneca Hong Kong and Macau, where he oversees overall strategy and business operations across the Hong Kong and Macau markets. He also holds the position of Senior Advisor, Corporate Affairs, supporting the development and execution of China Corporate Affairs strategy.Lyu brings nearly 30 years of healthcare industry experience and a strong track record of leadership. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, he held several senior roles at Abbott, including Vice President of Government Affairs for Abbott China, and Divisional Vice President for Global Government Affairs. In these roles, he led teams across North Asia, Mainland China, and Hong Kong to advance policy dialogue and strategic partnerships, with a longstanding presence in Hong Kong.He began his career at Siemens in various roles across sales, business development, government affairs, and key account management, contributing to the companys growth in China. Subsequently, he led corporate affairs functions at Sandoz and Mars Wrigley, overseeing business strategy, government affairs, market access, and communications.With deep expertise in government affairs, cross-functional leadership, and a longstanding presence in Hong Kong, Lyu is committed to enhancing partnerships and strengthening collaboration across Hong Kong, Macau, and the Greater Bay Area. By harnessing their unique advantages as gateways connecting Mainland China with the world, he will lead the team to support their continued development as hubs for medical innovation, benefiting society and reaching more patients.Lyu holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in the Medical Engineering Department of the Fourth Military Medical University, and EMBA degrees from Tsinghua University and INSEAD.
