Clem Newton-Brown is a former barrister, Deputy Lord Mayor of Melbourne, and Member of the Victorian Parliament. He is also an entrepreneur playing a pivotal role in bringing electric air taxis to Australia.
Having spent his career around politics, law, and urban planning, Clem launched the first water taxi service on the Yarra River in 1992 and was ahead of his time promoting micro-mobility with powered scooters. Now, he is leveraging his skills to focus on urban aerial mobility and flying taxis, illustrating how Australia is gearing up for this aviation revolution.
His company, Skyportz, is developing the infrastructure necessary for urban aerial mobility, including a patented vertiport pad in collaboration with Swinburne University to ensure safer operations in urban settings.
Cities are on the brink of a transport revolution with driverless cars, delivery drones, micro-mobility on scooters, and VTOL aircraft. Clem is at the forefront, advocating for the city planning and regulatory changes needed to embrace these innovations.
